A Letter to Our Readers,
Over the past three years, we have strived to bring you some of the “wrongest” original content on the web as well as republishing or linking to great content found elsewhere. Over the years we’ve faced several ups and downs, from the resignation of two of the founding members of this site, Minotaur and CustardStyle, to the creation of the SomethingSoWrong Moblog, which allowed us to share found wrongness while out-and-about in the world.
However, over the past several months, the pace of our lives outside of SSW has sped up, preventing us from generating quality original content in a timely, routine manner. As a result, our readership–especially our once core, loyal group of readers–has slowly dwindled. I think it’s telling when the last forum post was well over a month ago. It’s also been a long while since an original blog was written, instead of a picture or a link to a video. In addition, the Moblog, which was at one time updated regularly, has only seen 7 posts in the last two months.
Unfortunately, all these factors have added up to the point where SomethingSoWrong has failed as a website. Therefore, we’ve decided to end active publication of content to SomethingSoWrong effective immediately.
As for our content, SomethingSoWrong will remain “as is” for at least the next couple of months. You will still be able to access our archived blogs, forum posts and Moblog entries. After this period, the future of this site is up in the air. Perhaps there may be a compelling reason to go on, in which case we might revisit the site and pick up where we left off. Or maybe SomethingSoWrong will be reborn as something new. Or we might just pull the plug and let the site die with the dignity that it deserves.
Thank you for the past three years of loyal readership and for your contributions. We’d like to extend our special thanks to the following people, who helped get this site off the ground: Andy, Chad, Holly, Caren, Jimmy, Lindsey, Nick, Josh and Grace. Without you, this site would have failed very early on.
