I See Right Through You
Nothing annoys me more than people that over-use buzzwords. Actually, that's not entirely true...things that actually annoy me more include people that let their kids run wild, bad restaurant service and the French. (There's nothing more topical than beating up on the French, because, you know, it's 2003).

But buzzwords and their use thereof are pretty bad. I've always seen them as a crutch to hide your own ignorance as well as a way to make yourself appear smarter. Appear, because I see right through you. The sheep might hang on your every word, thinking you're the Greatest Orator That Ever Lived, but I don't. I think you're an idiot.

I was recently in a meeting in which the speaker overly-relied upon buzzwords. I amused myself by keeping a list. Here are some of the better ones:

Enhanced Prioritization Process
Requirements Analysis and Design
Optimal Business Alignment to Build Value
Global Economic Optimization
Corporate Cost-Averaging
Positive Business Paradigms
Advantageous Competitive Outsourcing
Centers of Excellence
Downstream Customer Methodology
Corporate Dynamicism
Architectural Review Strategy
Competitive Global Advantage
Hire for values, train for skills
Positive Process Discipline
Subject Matter Expertise
Central Point of Resolutions
